Motorsport in the foothills of the Schotten: the Schottenring Classic Grand Prix will be held on August 20 to 21, and is Germany’s leading event for classic racing motorcycles and sidecar outfits – a must for all motorcycle fans.
In 2010, after a break of several years, Audi was once again represented on this street circuit in Schotten, with pre-war DKW racing motorcycles. The 2011 event will see four DKW racing bikes from the post-war era at the starting line on Seestrasse. There is also an accompanying exhibition in which four NSU motorcycles will be on display.
August Hobl on the “Singing Saw”
August Hobl brought his DKW RM 350 – nicknamed the “Singing Saw” – along for the last time in 2010. The 1956-season world championship runner-up in the 350-cc class was then elected an honorary member of the MSC Rund um den Schotten, the organising motorcycle club. But who will ride the post-war DKW racing bikes this year?
